Why wouldn’t you want to live close to the city? There is no doubt that Sydney’s inner city living has its advantages. There are plenty of amenities within close proximity and a shorter commute for those who work in the CBD. Unfortunately, for all the convenience of inner city living, high density housing can sacrifice comfort due to excessive noise from neighbours, traffic, or in Sydney’s case, aircraft noise.

Residential buildings along the newly constructed on/off ramps to the freeway were experiencing severe road and traffic noise. Magnetite acoustic double glazing system was used to reduce noise to EPA standards of comfort.
We installed Magnetite double glaze windows in numerous homes and used a 100mm air cavity to ensure the best possible outcome. Our technicians custom fit a wide range of windows during this project including units and heritage listed properties.

The senior project engineer from Theiss John Holland Joint Venture, the tunnel builders, was extremely happy with our product and service and wrote us a reference stating:

Magnetite have successfully been able to considerably reduce high external traffic noise levels to below the criterion and more comfortable internal levels, providing significant benefits to the residents of the affected properties. We have found Magnetite to be very professional, punctual and efficient and of the highest standard and would have no hesitation in recommending them to any prospective clients.

Magnetite has undertaken similar noise reduction projects to insulate homes from traffic and aircraft noise in several major Australian cities including Adelaide and Tasmania. We have experience working with acoustic consultants and government to ensure immediate and long term noise reduction results for many residential areas.
